Join us for a weekly run club at The Run Company in Chichester | TRC Blog

For many runners, a large part of the enjoyment comes from social running and forging friendships with like-minded fitness fans of all abilities. The Run Company in Chichester organises a friendly, weekly running club for the local community. We all start from the store on the Hornet, meeting at 6.00pm for a 6.15pm start, each Wednesday, and have a variety of routes to keep it interesting.

The Run Comapany, Weekly Run Club

If you have not run with us before, please come along. We’d love to get to know you and hear about your running goals, whether they are to enter races or just to have fun. The runs are 5K, so is suitable for anyone who has successfully achieved a Couch To 5K and beyond. For example, you can do a 5K run in 35 minutes or less.

For our regular run clubbers, we work with the running brands to bring you surprise events every now and then. For example Saucony brought a few suitcases full of sample trainers for you to try during the 5k, plus drinks and food for afterwards. Similarly ON Running, New Balance, Silva, SOS and other brands have brought samples to use.

The Run Company, Weekly Run Club in Store

As well as the actual run, the club is a great place to get and share advice with each other, be it about training tips, what running shoes to wear or how to reduce risk of injury. You’ll meet loads of lovely people with a wide variety of experience in all areas of running.

We love to motivate each other and because it is a weekly run, it’s easy for you to set aside the time to join us regularly. Here’s a top tip: grab a friend and bring them with you each week. Then when it’s not beautiful sunshine, one of you will always be able to persuade the other to get out of the house anyway!

Common questions:

What type of shoes will I need?

Our routes are suitable for road running shoes.

Can I bring my dog?

Some runners bring their dogs with them – it’s great to see your furry friends getting fit too. Short leash and a hip/waist belt are best.

Do I need to bring water?

We will have water available for you when you finish back at the shop, so all you need to do is turn up in your running kit (Mens & Womens) and introduce yourself.

So if you are looking to join a local running club in the Chichester area, go ahead and meet up with us next Wednesday! If you have any questions, just pop in to The Run Company beforehand or call, and we will get you sorted.
