News: Lolo Jones seeks Olympic redemption

After failing to medal at the two previous Olympics Lolo Jones sets her eyes on success at the winter Olympics in Sochi. Russia.

The 31 year old American made the switch from hurdles to the bobsleigh after a devastating 2012 Olympic Games in London, which saw her return home for the second time without a medal. Jones saw this opportunity as a way of achieving her Olympic medal dream, but moreover as a chance to conquer her depression.

Speaking on the Today Show on Tuesday, Jones said: “I think it’s even more about redemption. I learned so much from when I walked into that Olympic training center in Lake Placid and met the bobsledders. They embraced me at one of the lowest points in my life. I was just coming off the summer games and I was pretty depressed and they lifted me up and day-by-day they encouraged me to never give up on this Olympic dream.
