About Us

i-Run started out as a blog, talking all things running. A dream and a whole lot of passion became a reality when i-Run opened the doors to it’s first store in 2014, welcoming runners far and wide. With a friendly and fun atmosphere we aim to make runners feel at ease no matter their experience or ability, we are proud to offer you professional gait analysis with our staff trained on running bio-mechanics.

Being keen, motivated runners ourselves; we know how important it is to get the little things just right to achieve your goals. We understand the unique mind set of runners, no matter what kind you are. We enjoy sharing our love of running and helping you on your journey, whether it is choosing the right shoe for your foot type, getting the right apparel for an important race or even selecting your energy products. In September 2015, we became 'The Run Company' which we celebrated with cake of course!

We are an enthusiastic bunch and each of us have our insane achievable goals that keep us focused and enthusiastic.

Gait analysis

Running shoes are the most important piece of equipment for any type or level of runner. Gait analysis provides runners with essential information about their running style; the major focus of this is measure the degree of pronation. Pronation is the inward roll as the outside part of the heel strikes the ground. This acts as a shock absorber for the leg and the body, which helps to distribute the force of impact. There are different degrees of pronation;

What is video gait analysis?

It involves running barefoot on the treadmill for a couple of minutes whilst a video is recorded using a gait analysis program. This allows a trained member of staff to slow down the video, analyse it in detail and explain the findings. Depending on the severity of pronation, different shoe options will be brought out depending on your foot type. Runners can then try on a selection of shoes looking at different cushioning, structured cushioning or maximum support options according to the results.
